We bought tickets to see Walking with Dinosaurs at Burswood but now my grandparents have announced they are going away travelling for that week now!

I was also invited to John & Nicki's meal, however my darling hubby is giving me (coz he has no choice) the WHOLE day off so taking sis on a lunchtime cruise and then going for a Sunday sesh! Don't plan to crawl home until after bathtime!

Sorry can't help this time.

Nikki Michie is down South this weekend so won't manage either.

A meal out would be nice but would have to be before 18th Dec. as our friends arrive then.

Hello ladies,

Well, it's been a while, but I thought I would ressurect Subi Sitters to see if anyone is free this Sunday night (10th December) to babysit for us. Our good friends John and Nicki are celebrating their 2nd wedding anniversary and have invited us to go out for a meal. So anyone free to come over from about 7pm to 10.30pm ish?

Also, are we going to arrange a Christmas get together? Maybe we could all have a nice meal out in Subi? Let me know your thoughts.

I've got tickets to see The Dixie Chicks live @ Burswood - a surprise for Craig's Birthday. (It's Craig who likes them, I don't even know any of their songs?!!!).

Anybody free to come round on Friday 13th October to babysit for Finlay & Georgie?

Georgie is now in her own room and sleeping quite well in her 'big bed' so would just need one bottle feed and put back down to bed while we are out. Fin would already be asleep.

Thanks for the offer Jen, but I'm going to tell Rich a little white lie that I wasn't able to find a babysitter! I'm very skeptical about this seminar and don't really want to go. It's for the Accor group and apparently you get a couple of nights free at one of their hotels (with no catches!??) - yeah right! As Lisa said, I'm sure they're just going to pester us about buying a holiday package and I really can't be bothered with all the phonecalls! It's funny really as I obviously know what a sucker Rich is - I've been chucking away all the junk mail they send us already before he sees it, but then they called one day when I wasn't home and they got him hook, line and sinker! I guess I'm just skeptical but I don't like these kinds of things.

On another note, Rich and I were hoping to go to a party Saturday night and our plan was to send Ashlinn to Grandma's house for the night. It turns out Grandma is going away for a few days (someone needs to pin that woman down :o) so I'm just wondering if any of you would be free Sat night? Again, no worries if it's late notice.

Now, when are some of you going to get your glad rags on and give me a chance to babysit? I feel like it's me doing all the requests - I can't be a babysitter hog!

I should get my P's tomorrow (as long as I pass the silly hazard perception test) so then I'll be on the roads - watch out!!

Hi girls,

I know this is very late notice, but my darling husband only told me about this tonight. We're supposed to be going to some hotel group seminar (apparently there's a free stay in it for us but I am skeptical) tomorrow (Monday night) from 8pm to 9.30pm. Anyone free? Ashlinn will be asleep so it'll just be a case of vegging out in front of the TV, but would be very grateful.

Understand it's short notice, so no panic.

Georgia will be bathed and hopefully bedded but would probably need a bottle at some point.

Blog Tutorial

Hi again girls,

I've set up a google group for us so that any email sent to subisitters@googlegroups.com will be sent to all of us. I've changed the blog settings so that each time a new post is added it'll get emailed via the google group to all of us. Don't worry too much about this, it won't affect you, you'll just get automatic emails once any of us post. Speaking of which, on to a crash course...

Firstly you'll need to click on the link in the invitation email sent by blogger and sign up for a new account. If you have any problems with this let me know and I'll send another invite email.

In order to post you need to open the blogger dashboard and sign in, to do this you can either click the 'I power blogger' button on the left hand side or just go to www.blogger.com and sign in. Once signed in you can select the Subi Sitters blog and then click "Create new post". This will take you to a page with a big box for entering your post. There are 2 versions of the box, one is "Edit html" which you can use if you know html speak (I'm learning!), and the other is "Compose" which I suggest you use as it's just like using and EB forum. You can add a title and then when you're done just hit publish post! And that's how easy it is! You'll see that you can also edit or delete any posts you have created but not anyone elses.

I think it's best to keep everything in post form not comments, e.g. if someone writes a post requesting a date and you can make it then instead of adding a comment you will need to create a new post saying that you'll be able to make it etc. That way everyone else will know that a babysitter has already been found. For arranging the details you can either post or just email the person yourself. I think this will be a good way for us all to stay in touch and know who's doing what as there will be a permanent record of everything online and we wont have to scour through our bulging inboxes to find lost emails!

Also, I'll add a new post with all of our contact details so again they will always be online and can be accessed just by finding the post in the archives.

Inaugural Subi-Sitters Post

Hi Girls,

I'm being miss organised this evening and putting in place a new blog for babysitting. As you can see we're called the Subi-Sitters (great name as long as no one add's an H in there!).

I thought it would work something like this. We can have 'credit status' posts where we summarise the number of credits we have - there is no competition here at all, there will be times when we're really busy and need lots of help but can't do much ourselves and then those times when we're free and have no social life, so there's no feeling guilty if your credits are running low and no feeling prim if we have lots (that just means we don't go out enough!). :)

We can keep it simple and simply have one credit for each occasion or more complex and have one credit for each hour and then double credits after a certain time - we'll take a vote on this one.

I also thought we could use this board to advertise when we need babysitting, i.e. date required, times etc. Also, if you're free any time you think someone might like to go out then you can advertise availability - this might help sometimes when something comes up last minute, you think you won't get a babysitter and then remember that someone is free.

So what do you think? The posting system is quite easy, you don't need to know any html coding - you just click on new post and then when the writing box comes up you can click on 'Compose' at the top right of the box to see the normal text and change fonts etc.
